Pension and Retirement Planning
We're here to help
Financial situations change in retirement. It’s perfectly natural. And things like Wills and professional retirement plans can give you the security and peace of mind you need to make this an exciting, rather than daunting, new chapter in your life.
However you want your retirement to look, Danbro Financial Planning are here to help.
Planning your retirement
People strive to make the most out of their money, and that shouldn’t change in retirement. It’s never too late to make a financial plan. At DFP, we can help you arrange and consolidate your plans for retirement. Our dedicated team will help make it easier for you to do the things you’ve always wanted. Your personal plan will give you more financial freedom, as well as greater clarity on:
- The income you’re able to generate from your assets.
- How much you can leave behind for your family.
- How you can better manage your finances, making your money go further in retirement.
- Ways in which you can achieve a more prosperous retirement.
With DFP, you’ll get a comprehensive service that focuses on you, your family, and your retirement. Our Director, Liam Winstanley, will work alongside you, creating an adaptable, dependable and tax efficient financial plan. We want to help you get to where you want to be, at a pace that works for you.
A pension is a long-term investment not normally accessible until 55. The value of your investment (and any income from them) can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount you invested.
Writing your Will
A financial plan is a sensible step to take towards a happy, more prosperous retirement. It can include things like pensions, life assurance, and ways you can leave money behind for your loved ones. As well as making the most of your money and investments once you’ve finished working, a financial plan can also help you put provisions in place for unwanted or unexpected life events.
Making a Will is, essentially, rudimentary financial planning. Your Will allows you to decide what happens to your money, property, assets and possessions after you die. Without one, the law decides who gets what. It’s important to have a Will, as it can reduce conflict and confusion, and help limit things like the amount of Inheritance Tax that needs paying. If you’ve not yet written your Will, or are currently looking into writing one, now could be the best time to do it! Will Aid 2019 is now live and there’s still time to get involved.
What is ‘Will Aid’ and how does it work?
Will Aid is a fundraising campaign that involves nine of the country’s best loved charities. Taking place every November, people are encouraged to have their Will drawn up professionally, teaming up with kind-hearted solicitors and supporting fantastic causes such as Age UK and the NSPCC.
Now in its 31st year, Will Aid has raised more than £20million for charity. Not to mention helping hundreds of thousands of people across the UK get their Wills and affairs in order. The scheme works like this:
- Participating solicitors draw up their client’s Will, waiving the fee they would usually charge.
- Clients are then invited to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid instead.
- Donations typically sit at around £100 for a basic, single Will, and £180 for basic, mirror Wills.
- Those generous donations support the crucial work of charities including:
If this is something you’re interested in, you can use the scheme’s exclusive online postcode search to find a participating solicitor near you.
