Finding the Right Deal For You
It’s time to get to work. We’ll research all the latest mortgage deals, assess them in accordance with your specific requirements and narrow down the appropriate lenders. Sharon herself is a former underwriter. So, she has a unique understanding of the process as a whole. What’s more, her expertise and market relationships will save you the time and trouble of shopping around before applying for a mortgage.
As well as lenders, we’ll look at suitable insurance and protection options at this stage too. Then, we’ll talk you through potential deals and repayment methods before presenting our recommendations and agreeing the right way forward. At DFP, we like to take a collaborative approach when applying for a mortgage.
Sorting Your Agreement in Principle & Formal Mortgage Application
Once you’re happy with what’s on offer, it’s time to get your mortgage application moving. This is the exciting bit. We can swiftly arrange your agreement in principle and seek a formal quotation from your chosen lender. This involves a ‘soft’ credit search and a ‘mini-application’ to let us know whether your mortgage is likely to get approved. If successful - and subject to underwriting - you’ll have a shiny new agreement in principle as evidence that you’re in a position to proceed.
Then, when you’re ready to move, we’ll take care of the formalities for you. Providing your mortgage application is all good, which it should be after our robust research, the lender will conduct their remaining checks. This includes things like surveys and valuations. They’ll then issue a formal mortgage offer. Once your solicitor has completed the legal checks, arranged the exchange of contracts and the formal completion, you’ll finally get your hands on those keys (or re-mortgage funds)!
